2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone (UV absorber BP-1)has a colorless or yellowish crystal appearance. It can dissolve in gasoline, benzene, acetone and other organic solvents. 2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone has very little solubility in water and is not decomposed by concentrated alkali and concentrated acid. 2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone can be ionized with heavy metals to form salts. Can absorb 270 ~ 280nm wavelength of ultraviolet light. Melting point 130 ~ 131℃.
