Octyl 4-methoxycinnamate is a commonly used sunscreen, anti-aging agent and UV absorber. Orange transparent liquid. The boiling point is 216°C (0.133-0.267kpa), and the refractive index is 1.535 (26°C). Soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water. Octyl 4-methoxycinnamate is an organic compound used in some sunscreen products, lip balms and other beauty products to absorb UVB in the sun and protect the skin from its damage. It is the most commonly used UVB sunscreen agent. It is a transparent liquid insoluble in water at room temperature.
