IRGAFOS P-EPQ is a high-molecular-weight phosphite antioxidant specially developed for demanding high-temperature polymer applications. Compared with conventional phosphite antioxidants, it offers superior hydrolysis resistance, thermal stability, and long-term processing protection in advanced resin systems.
1. Engineering Plastics & High-Temperature Resins
IRGAFOS P-EPQ is widely used in engineering plastics such as polycarbonate (PC), polyester, polyamide (PA), PPO, and modified resin compounds. It helps reduce molecular degradation during extrusion and injection molding while maintaining resin color and mechanical properties.
In high-performance compounding systems, it is often used together with Antioxidant 626 for enhanced processing stabilization in engineering polymers.
2. Powder Coatings & Coil Coatings
Due to its excellent thermal resistance, IRGAFOS P-EPQ is particularly suitable for powder coatings, coil coatings, and industrial baking systems requiring high curing temperatures. It improves coating durability and minimizes thermal yellowing during curing processes.
3. Polyolefin Compounds
In polypropylene and polyethylene compounding, IRGAFOS P-EPQ functions as an advanced phosphite processing stabilizer that improves melt stability and reduces oxidative degradation under severe processing conditions.
It can also work synergistically with LOTSORB AN 136 in high-temperature PP fiber and recycled polyolefin applications.
4. Adhesives & Specialty Resin Systems
IRGAFOS P-EPQ is commonly applied in hot melt adhesives and specialty resin formulations requiring excellent long-term thermal stability and low volatility. Its high molecular weight helps minimize migration during storage and processing.
