Do you know about photoinitiator EMK

What is Photoinitiator EMK?

Photoinitiator EMK (CAS 90-93-7), with the English name 4,4′-Bis (diethylamino) benzophenone, is an organic compound. We also often call it tetraethylmethrin. It is usually a white or light yellow crystalline powder with a melting point of 89-92℃ and is relatively fixed. This characteristic can be used to determine the purity and other properties of the substance. It is sensitive to light, with a maximum wavelength (λmax) of 352nm (THF), which is an important fundamental characteristic for it as a photoinitiator and other photosensitive materials.

What are the features of photoinitiator EMK?

Chemical property characteristics

Stability: EMK photoinitiator is relatively stable at room temperature and is not prone to decomposition.  This enables it to maintain its chemical structure and properties during storage and general production and processing, ensuring its stability and reliability in the manufacturing process.

Reactivity EMK photoinitiator has good reactivity.  As a ketone compound, the carbonyl group in its molecular structure has a certain polarity and is easy to react with other molecules containing active hydrogen and other groups.  For example, 4 4 bis diethylamino benzophenone can be used as a dye intermediate to participate in the dye synthesis process. 4,4′-Bis(diethylamino) benzophenone is also easy to undergo structural modification, which is conducive to its wide application in organic synthesis.

Application performance characteristics

High sensitivity: Photoinitiator EMK has a rapid response to light and rays.  This feature gives it a significant advantage in the manufacturing of photosensitive materials and photosensitive devices, enabling it to quickly trigger photochemical reactions and enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Versatility: Photoinitiator EMK is not only applicable in fields such as photosensitive materials, film industry, special electronics, optical materials and microelectronics industry, but also can be used as a dye intermediate in dye production, demonstrating its versatility in multiple fields.

What are the uses of photoinitiator EMK?

Dye intermediate: Photoinitiator EMK is an important intermediate for basic dyes and is used in the production of triarylmethane dyes such as basic brilliant blue B, basic brilliant Blue R, and basic brilliant Blue BO. Alkaline lan7 can be prepared by condensation of tetraethylmethrin and N-ethyl-1-naphthylamine in the presence of phosphorus oxychloride, followed by dilution, hydrolysis, purification and salting out.

Photoinitiator: As a new type of highly efficient photoinitiator, Photoinitiator EMK is mainly applicable to the ultraviolet curing system of acrylic acid monomers and oligomers, and can initiate the polymerization reaction of oligomers under ultraviolet light irradiation. Tetraethylmethrin has a synergistic effect with active amine initiators. emk photoinitiator is widely used in UV systems such as offset printing, flexographic printing, screen printing, adhesives, and electronic circuit board inks.

Photosensitive materials: Due to their photosensitive properties, they can be used to manufacture ultra-high-sensitivity photosensitive materials. 4 4 bis diethylamino benzophenone plays a role in fields such as photosensitive imaging, photolithography, and microelectronics manufacturing. 4 4 bis diethylamino benzophenone can also be used as a photosensitive agent component in the film industry to produce high-performance films.

Photoinitiator-EMK-used

Special optical materials: EMK photoinitiator plays a key role in the manufacturing of special electronic and optical materials and can be used to manufacture liquid crystal displays, optical fibers, and photoelectric sensors, etc.

Rubber crosslinking agent: Photoinitiator emk can also be used as a rubber crosslinking agent, which can improve the performance of rubber, enhance its strength, hardness and aging resistance, etc.

Photoinitiator EMK is relatively stable at room temperature and is not prone to decomposition. This enables emk photoinitiator to maintain its chemical structure and properties during storage and general production and processing, facilitating storage and transportation and reducing risks in the production process. Compared with the production methods of some other similar compounds, the production process of 4,4′-Bis(diethylamino) benzophenone is relatively simple, the raw materials are readily available, and the energy consumption and raw material costs during the production process are relatively low, which gives it certain economic advantages.
